Kathryn has worked as a social worker, counsellor, and welfare teacher for 40 years while raising three children. She has been a member of the Film and Literature Classification Board of Australia for eight years. Her interests are Indigenous social justice issues in Australia, and trauma counselling. Kathryn has visited Rwanda on several occasions, including on a study tour organised by the University of Sydney. She has a good degree of knowledge about the Great Lakes region of Africa.
