Jean Nepomuscene Sibomana

Born in Gatsibo District, Eastern Province, Rwanda. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering and Information Technology, Kigali Institute of Technology, Kigali, Rwanda. Nepo is a committed human rights and peace activist in the Great Lakes region. He has extensive experience in leading successful human rights campaigns and projects. He was the Director of the youth organization, Nursery Of Peace, established to provide hope and support to young genocide survivors, combat genocide ideology and promote peace building in Rwanda. Nepo was previously the coordinator of the Rwanda’s Student Survivor Association (AERG). Nepo is currently the Vice-President of Initiatives of Change, Rwanda. He was the Chairman of their program ‘Eastern Africa Youth Forum’, which encourages and develops ethical leadership in the region. He assisted in planning the forum in Rwanda and Burundi and in South Sudan. He is also currently serving on the executive committee of the Commonwealth Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs East Africa. He coordinated the Rwanda Youth Campaign for Somalia, which raised thousands of dollars to provide food aid to famine stricken Somalia and he organized the Global Peace Builders Conference in Kigali for South Sudan and Central African Republic. Nepo previously worked at African Rights and The Pan-African Bank, Ecobank. Nepo is a survivor of the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda. Nepo is fluent in English, French and Kinyarwanda. He lives in Eastern Province, Rwanda.
